Signature
I created this work with the intention to deconstruct and subvert signatures. I began by correlating my signature to a physical space, one that, like a signature, illudes to my identity and personality. I focused my attention to bedside tables, as this small and intimate surface area holds many trinkets in which narratives around identity and personality can be formed. By creating a custom brush (on Adobe Photoshop) in the shape of my bedside table, I then used it to trace over my signature’s form. In creating this abstracted version of my signature, I then overlayed it with the original bedside table photo to create a distorted image in which I sketched using pencil.
